Reminder about 2016-2017 dues: They are $53.00 and due to Don Kirkland by July 1st. PO Box 372 Derry NH 03038.

In addition, any official wishing to work high school meets for the 2016-2017 school year must register with the MIAA using their Arbiter account. The cost is $10.00. The MIAA registration on Arbiter will open on July 1st. There will be a deadline date forthcoming to us. Membership is reminded that luckily, cross country, winter and spring are all considered track so we only owe $10.00 for MIAA registration.

Here's a note from MIAA concerning Arbiter registration:

Dear Game Officials,

Now approaching the end of our first year completing background checks and online registrations, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your efforts supporting this important process.  This effort to approve the background of all officials continues to support the dedication and professionalism that every official is proud to display as they work for their chapter, board, league and school.

Through this MIAA Background Check Procedure, we have approved and registered over 6500 officials.  Thank you to all chapter leaders and each official for making this process successful for all.

In preparation for the 2016-17 school year, we would like to pass along some information and guidance:
  1. 1. The annual registration fee will remain at $10 per sport; registration will continue to be completed through the ArbiterSports database.  All officials must register annually in order for their approval icon to be validated for each new year.
    2. The cost for a background check will remain at $35.
    3. All background checks are valid for three years; those completed during the 2015-16 school year, are valid through June 30, 2018, the end of the 2017-18 school year.
    4. Registrations and background checks for the next school year (2016-17) will open on July 1, 2016.  Seasonal deadlines will remain the same:  July 31 – fall, Oct. 1 – winter, Jan. 1 – spring.
    5. Additional information and instructions for the 2016-17 school year will be posted on the landing page of the Arbiter system – miaa.arbitersports.com
On behalf of all 379 MIAA member schools, their athletic directors, principals and students, thank you for all that you do for athletics in the state of Massachusetts. We are proud and appreciative of your work in support of education based athletics.

Sincerely,

Richard Pearson
