Technical officials education seminars offered

posted Jul 22, 2020, 8:47 AM by Paul Williams

Dear MTFOA Officials,

Several MTFOA officials are participating in an officials seminar presented by the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC.)  NACAC is one of the six area associations that make up the World Athletics (formerly the IAAF).

The eight, apprentice level seminars were created by the Technical Officials Education and Certification System (TOECS), which was established by World Athletics.

The Apprentice level is the first of three TOECS levels.

  1. TOECS Level 1: that is the entry for becoming a National Technical Official (NTO)

  2. TOECS Level II: that is the entry for becoming an Area Technical Official (AITO)

  3. TOECS Level III: World Athletics International Technical Official (WAITO)

The seminars are not a replacement for the much more extensive training, but will give officials a good idea on what is involved.  Although the online sessions are filled they are available to anyone with a Facebook account.

The first session was held on Monday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m. EDT and the final session will be held Thursday. August 6 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Here’s the schedule.

The seminars are LIVE streamed at the NACAC page on Facebook.

Here are links to the first three sessions.
