How Availability works

This Availability page is where MTFOA and the many high school league commissioners/assigners alert officials to their needs for the winter and spring track seasons.

Acting MTFOA commissioners --  Bob Muldoon and Mark Young -- assign officials to college, high school (non-league) and other meets for which MTFOA has been contracted to provide officials. Informs officials of their assignments via email.

Negotiator - Rich Hickey - gathers dates and negotiates fees for MTFOA contracted meets. Prepares seasonal availability sheets.

High school league commissioners assign officials to their individual leagues. Contact lists can be found under "Best practices-Files" on the top menu of the Home page.

Commencing with the 2022 Spring season, signing up for and being assigned to MTFOA contracted Track Meets will be done electronically. Seasonal electronic sign-up form is made available via the Blast Emails and on the Home Page. Please complete/submit the form promptly. Making yourself available for a meet date does not guarantee the assignment as we try to give as many officials as we can an assignment. 

Indoor attire

Uniforms for officials for indoor track:

-- Khaki pants

-- Green shirt, green vest or green pullover with MTFOA logo

-- No hats

-- No yellow jackets

Outdoor attire

Uniforms for officials for outdoor track and cross country:

-- Khaki pants

-- Green shirt, yellow shirt, green vest or green pullover with MTFOA logo

-- Hat with MTFOA logo

-- Yellow jackets with MTFOA logo
